Prepare for a strong and passionate marriage through community by addressing common challenges from a Biblical perspective.
Couples who participate in pre-marital counseling experience an increase in marital fulfillment over those who do not. Merge prepares seriously dating and engaged couples for marriage by addressing common challenges from a biblical perspective. Topics covered include a communication, conflict, finances, expectations, family and in-laws, sexual intimacy, and understanding your spouse. Merge helps couples explore what marriage really means in a safe and informative environment. Often for the first time, couples get to see the practicalities of merging together two very different lives. Two sets of expectations, now merging together. Two bank accounts, now merging together. Two pairs of inlaws, now merging together. The name Merge came about because that is what marriage is: the joining together of what was previously separate.The 9 week class is offered once a year. The cost is $60 per couple and this covers the cost of materials for both of you. Whether you go to Forum, attend another church, or don't go to church at all, you are welcome to attend. If you have some weeks that you will be unable to attend, don’t let that keep you from joining in. You will be able to easily catch up with a recorded video of the class and continue on with your homework and notes of the class. We always encourage if one of you can attend, do so, and catch the other one up. Also, if you are not local, it can still work through the wonders of video conference technology!Don’t hesitate to sign up, just do it! “All You Need is Love,” was a famous song by the Beatles. In the book of Matthew, Jesus has a lot to say about love. How we should love God, how we should love our neighbors and even how we should love our enemies. In the book of Ephesians, Paul discusses how husbands should love their wives. And, wives how you should love your husbands. In this new study based on the book “Love Like Jesus,” by Christian author Kurt Bennett, we’ll discuss how we too can love like Jesus. We will discuss a love that can be like superglue to bind your marriage together. We’ll discuss how we can love like Jesus, and love family members, neighbors, coworkers, and even those people who don’t love us back.Love Like Jesus is a 10 week class that explores how Jesus loved others led by Steve and Marilyn Roberts.
