SERVE AT TREAT STREET

All volunteers are invited to attend a Treat Street volunteer lunch meeting following the third service on Sunday, October 26 in the Family Life Center (FLC). The lunch meeting will start at approximately 1:00 pm.

WAYS TO SERVE

  • Greeting Team

What would I do? You will be one of the first to engage with our guests. This may include meeting guests once they park and walking with them from their car, serving hot chocolate as they wait in line, or simply visiting with families as they wait to enter Treat Street. Greeting Team members have a unique opportunity to personally welcome and communicate with guests – introducing them to the event, welcoming them to Forum, and helping them feel seen and known.

Who would enjoy this role? You don’t have to be an extrovert to do this role well. In fact, it might be introverts who can better anticipate what guests might be thinking and feeling. A desire to help those new to an event at a church (where some may feel uncomfortable) makes for the perfect volunteer in this role.

Why is this role important? Treat Street has a lot of energy and excitement, but with that - also a lot of potential confusion or hesitation for our guests. This role’s purpose is to cut through and eliminate much of that by helping people feel welcome and loved.

Day of expectations? We ask that you be here ready to greet by 5:00 pm.

  • Candy Stop (The WOW of Treat Street)

What would I do? Engage with our guests by handing out candy as they pass by your themed candy stop. Our candy stop coordinators will be a helpful resource for you as you plan and execute your designs, from inspiration for your stop to determining the best adhesives to use on the walls.

Who would enjoy this role? Friendly, warm, inviting, creative groups (2-10 people ideal).

Why is this role important? Your enthusiastic interaction with our guests is a fun way to display the light and love of Jesus to our community!

Day of expectations? Your Candy Stop needs to be up and ready before 4:30 pm on October 31. Set up can begin starting Sunday, October 26 (following a Treat Street volunteer lunch meeting). Your group will need to present from 5:00-8:00 pm on October 31 and then stay for tear down.

  • Set Up (Oct. 26-31)

What would I do? Anything from decorating to moving tables and chairs.

Who would enjoy this role? Everyone! If you are willing to serve, we have a task for you!

Why is this role important? This is our biggest event, and many hands make light work!

Time expectations? Flexible times October 27-31. Many of the tasks need to be done on Sunday afternoon, October 27.

  • Clean Up (Oct. 31 & Nov. 1)

What would I do? Assist with general clean up and getting the building ready for the Sunday Gathering.

Who would enjoy this role? Everyone! If you are willing to serve, we have a task for you!

Why is this role important? This role is very important! You bring energy and relieve groups serving during the event.

Time expectations? Many of the tasks need to be done immediately following Treat Street. We will have a clean up time from 8-10 PM after the event on Friday, October 31. And then cleaning will continue on Saturday, November 1 from 9 AM until completion.
